Secluded Bronte

Secluded Bronte are Richard Thomas, Adam Bohman and Jonathan Bohman. Secluded Bronte were formed in London and launched in New York City at the legendary Knitting Factory in 2002.

It’s hard to classify the group. Secluded Bronte refuse all labels, though they have been compared to The Fall, Wire, Ennio Morricone, This Heat, The Residents, John Cage, Jean-Luc Godard, Sun Ra and The Specials.

Secluded Bronte are busy live performers. This year they have toured throughout Europe, Scandinavia and the UK. Secluded Bronte are equally prolific recording artists. Since 2020 they have released six albums and an EP.

Their latest album is The Horns of Andromeda.

This show has some personal significance for the group. Richard Thomas was born in Newport.

And the last time he played in Newport was more than 30 years ago as the guitarist and vocalist of the cult post-punk group Guinea Worm.

The last time Secluded Bronte played in Wales was 16 years ago when they staged an incendiary performance with filmmaker Peter Strickland [Berberian Sound System, Flux Gourmet] in a large marquee at Llangollen International Literary Festival. Towards the end of that show a tall white horse trotted into the venue.

It’s unlikely any horses will gate crash this show, but it’s 100% guaranteed that Secluded Bronte will change the atomic structure of Newport using sound alone.
